Abracadabra!!!! Can you see it? Not so sure. Mueller disappeared. Now that I have crawled out of my fetal position in the corner of my panic room, I can think straight. I should have learned from life experiences that personal expectations can often lead to disappointment. My expectations and I assume those of many others were that Robert Mueller was our magician. Poof! He would make the Grifter and others disappear from our sight. That is, unless we chose to visit them in prison.
I am going to try and stick to facts as I know them: *Mueller was limited in scope in his investigation to the allegation that there were links or coordination between the Grifter and the Russian government. He also could investigate potential obstruction of justice by the Grifter and others. Supposedly, he did not find links between the government and the Grifter. That does not mean there were no links between him and individuals. Lots of Russians have crossed his path. *Barr sure had a busy weekend. He took that report and presented a four-page summary which included portions of some of Mueller’s sentences completely missing context. Similar to if Barr took the first sentence of A Tale of Two Cities and only said “It was the best of times.” *Barr has a troubling view of Presidential power. Troubling only to those who believe in the rule of law. He has refused to say whether he would follow guidance of the Justice Department’s ethics guidelines. Any readings of his views on Presidential powers leaves room for concern. He also wrote an unsolicited opinion before he was considered for the job as AG critical of the Mueller investigation. Bingo! You won the job. *It is said the Grifter now feels emboldened. When hasn’t he? But now he has someone else saying “no collusion”. Within hours he has used that new boldness to: o threaten Puerto Rico with stopping almost 100% of assistance needed due to Hurricane Maria.. In case you have forgotten, Puerto Rico is an I island surrounded by big water. So big that the paper towels he threw at them have probably all been used. o accuse President Obama of wiretapping him. o threaten to eliminate health care assistance for 21,000,000 people and stop Medicaid assistance for many with prescription drug assistance. o investigate Russia’s tampering with the election. Nyet. Nyet. Nyet. Just kidding. There is still hope. Thank you, Stephen Colbert, for reminding me there are still at least twelve investigations ongoing. Many by the Southern District of NY involving tax and money laundering issues. You are ours for the getting.

Saint Paddy’s word rage
Tweet after tweet after tweet Projectile vomit. I stay at home the evenings of Saint Patrick’s weekend. Too many amateur drinkers. Too many fights breaking out. Smell of vomit mixed with urine. Otherwise, a fun weekend in Chicago with the dyeing of the river green, a parade and the knowledge of Spring around the corner. This weekend I stayed away from TV for the most part, but the few glances at it told me all I needed to know. Grifter surrounded by his enablers is bad enough. He was basically on his own this weekend. Home Alone starring Macaulay Culkin was a cute movie. Home Alone starring the Grifter is more a mix of the Shining, The Blob and A Night at the Garden (Marshall Curry’s Oscar-nominated short film about a 1939 Nazi-themed rally in NY. His inspiration to bring it into the light was what happened in Charlottesville, VA, and the Grifter's talk about fine people). The projectile tweets included rants against Senator John McCain, Fox News (only because they suspended one of his comrade-in-arms), SNL, General Motors, “Radical Left Democrats" and who knows what else. We have a deranged man in the White House. We have Kellyanne Conway encouraging everyone to read the New Zealand’s white supremacist and terrorist manifesto. Why? Isn’t there a reporter anywhere who would ask that simple question? Well, I will answer it for her. Probably to show that Trump was mentioned only once as part of the terrorist’s inspiration. I think she hopes we also see where he is not a supporter of some of the Grifter’s policies. Probably the one where he has instituted a partial Muslim ban for certain countries. Partial ban? New Zealand terrorist had much more in mind. I am tired of being Charlie Brown. Lucy pulls that ball out from me every single time. Every day I truly believe there will be someone of courage from the Republican ranks who will say we need to start what is needed to institute the 25th amendment. Isn't there one? No. Do not want one who is getting ready to retire. Do not want one who knows he or she is safe no matter what he does (Susan Collins, screw you. In fact, forget all the Rethug women). Isn’t there even one who sees this for what it is? A very, scary situation whose ending could be catastrophic. Am I overly dramatic? Ask families of the victims of the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston where 9 people were killed by a home-grown white nationalist terrorist. Or families of the eleven killed in Pittsburgh at the Tree of Life synagogue by a home-grown white nationalist terrorist. Or worshippers at the 35 mosques attacked in 2017, and ever-increasing threats, fires, and attacks continuing in 2018 and 2019. All by home-grown white nationalist terrorists (thoughts and prayers are meaningless to me in these incidents). Grifter uses his tater tots and pears comments to Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern of New Zealand as a prologue to his rant about his imaginary southern INVASION. I was going to take a break today from this. But then I remember silence equals complicity. I actually feel better now. Maybe this time Lucy will let me kick that ball. Rich. White. Privilege. Crime does pay it seems. Treason? Nah, just a stumble. This was going to be all about Manafort and the first outrageous sentence he received from Judge T.S. Ellis. At least Judge Amy Jackson made it a more fitting sentence. Fitting that is considering treasonous behavior at one time ended in a death sentence. Poor, poor Paul Manafort who pleaded that putting him in jail would take him away from his wife. Yeah, that is how prison works. Now, the big question. How soon before the Grifter pardons this traitor? Not as fast as the NY Southern District placed 16 charges against him. Bam. Financial crimes against the state that no Presidential pardon can touch. I have a second question. Will there be any recrimination for Manafort's attorney who came out to the public and immediately lied when he said that Judge Jackson stated there was no collusion? Nah: Rich. White. Privilege. As I have said before, Oliver Wendell Holmes said taxes are what we pay for a civilized society. Your No Collusion mantra is meaningless against the tax code, Grifter. Just ask Al Capone. White privilege seems to be big deal today with the uncovering of the wealthy buying admission for their over-privileged mediocre children into Ivy League colleges and universities. Affirmative action be damned. Seems like gaming the system is just how it works for some. Jealous? Nope. Just tired of hypocrisy. You’re a grand ole flag You were at one time. But now-- Begone from my sight. Ew. Just ew. PDA (public display of assault) between the Grifter and the flag as he wrapped his tiny hands around her and pulled her to him is just too much to get out of my mind. I sincerely hope the flag realizes she is part of the Me Too Movement. Gayle King did such a stellar interview with R. Kelly and will be talking to some of the families of his victims. I can only hope she can score the first interview with this flag.
The chairman was Lindsay Graham who probably had to throw in a gall bladder, spleen, femur or something else in addition to his soul. And then among the pictures of this motley crew was Gary Sinise. I know Gary Sinise is conservative. I also know he has done incredible work and fundraising for veterans. How can he be in a room with Commander Bone Spurs who has insulted POWs, Goldstar families, Navaho servicemen, did not visit Arlington National Cemetery on Veteran’s Day because it was raining? Okay, someone finally pushed him into a plane headed to Iraq. All he talks about is that the landing strip was dark (yeah, think about why Agent Orange) and he met someone with the last name Raisin. Gary, explain, please. I truly want to try and figure out why he has certain supporters. I do know of one person who watched the Grifter’s 2+ hour speech. I have just heard bits and pieces and can not imagine hearing any more. It is out there I am sure for anyone who wants to know how a verbal form of torture would sound. This is all I have to say this week. I need to just keep my head in the sand some. Next week I should have a lot to say. Manafort will face sentencing this week. BREAKING NEWS: 47 months. Judge thought he was really an okay guy. More next week on this. Roger Stone may face a judge next week, possible indictments of others, Kim Jung-Un could send his Dotard a dirty bomb, and who knows, the Grifter may do something odd. Plus, I will do a blog segment updating changes from the book since it was published, Will just leave you with this. A quote from the Samuel Johnson--“Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel.” Plus my favorite song about scoundrels and their fake attachment to patriotism: Michael Cohen missed Don’t step on Superman’s cape Captured all the rest. “Always leave them wanting more.” Some attribute this quote to P.T. Barnum but that is disputed by others. The Grifter's circus continued today as Michael Cohen testified before Congress. My opinion is Cohen was the ringmaster with clown acts by Republicans.
